This is a fully furnished hybrid single/double room on the 7th floor of a brand-new luxury apartment building at the Hub Bancroft, right next to the UC Berkeley campus entrance. The building opened in 2024 and is in its second year of leasing, so everything is modern and well-maintained.
The unit sits in a large 1,100 square foot 2 bed 2 bath apartment with a spacious living room. The bedroom is technically a shared room, but the furniture layout and curtains create full visual separation. It genuinely feels like your own private space. Standing in the living room you get unobstructed views of the Campanile, the Bancroft/Telegraph intersection, and on clear days, the Bay.
I am currently a resident during the '25-'26 academic year. I re-signed my lease for next year very early, so I got a locked-in below-market rate before leasing raised the prices, so the rate that the person taking over my lease would pay for would be meaningfully lower than what the leasing office is quoting right now. Additionally, you also get a guaranteed high 7th-floor placement with amazing views, something the leasing office can't promise. They do not release unit assignments till August. If you're comparing this to places like The Standard or Identity, this building is the same tier with better floor plans and a better location.
The target person to take over my lease would be one male identifying individual. However, if you have two or three people, potential options exist as well because of the other room in the apartment that the leasing office is selling.
